Way of Life – a Family business

Our campsite and home are built around a 100-year-old doctor's house. We care for our garden, enjoy cooking with clean, local ingredients, and love being close to nature.

Our garden is alive with flowers, bees, birds, squirrels, hares, and sometimes even deer, lynx, or the pawprints of a bear passing nearby.

We enjoy gardening and renovating the old home. Our passion is pure, wholesome food. Local producers provide us with wonderful ingredients, and it is a joy to prepare clean, honest meals for our guests. Patrick loves nature and mushroom picking – our shelves are filled with dried mushrooms. Berry picking and walking in the forest are, for our family, a form of meditation.

In our garden, flowers bloom, trees and bushes grow, and countless buzzing insects find a home among the blossoms. We always try to give them the best chance to thrive. Around our yard live hares, squirrels, hedgehogs, frogs, and lizards, along with a wide variety of birds. Sometimes we even get visits from deer, elk, lynx – and once, we found bear tracks just 100 meters from the house.

Family members you can't miss

Our family also includes five dogs, three cats, and a flock of chickens with their proud rooster. We also have horses, though they don't live at Koivuniemi – but guests are welcome to meet them, and horse-drawn rides can also be arranged. And of course, your pets are warmly welcome too.
