Peat Sauna has many holistic benefits

The sauna temperature is kept at around 60°C, which allows the body to relax without strain. The heat opens the pores of the skin, enhancing the effect of the peat: its minerals and bioactive compounds are absorbed and activated, cleansing and revitalizing the body. The treatment lasts about 20–25 minutes, after which the peat is rinsed off with water. Soap is not needed, as the therapeutic peat is naturally antiseptic and cleansing.

Benefits of the Peat Sauna

Peat sauna has many holistic benefits, such as:

  • Stimulates metabolism and helps the body release excess fluid

  • Exfoliates, moisturizes, and softens the skin naturally

  • Relaxes muscles and relieves stiffness

  • Helps treat acne and impurities by drawing toxins from the skin

  • May reduce cellulite

  • Brings relief to menstrual, menopausal, and prostate-related issues due to the plant-based estrogen in peat

  • Eases rheumatic pain, as peat's humic substances bind toxins and support cell regeneration

  • Reduces stress and promotes better sleep

How the Peat Sauna Works

The session begins with a light sauna and a quick shower to open the pores. The peat is then applied generously to the whole body or just to problem areas, thick enough to cover the skin completely.

During the session, the peat is kept moist with water or a spray bottle so that it stays active. The peat remains on the skin for 20–25 minutes before being rinsed off with water only. Soap is not necessary. After the sauna, the skin may appear slightly red due to increased circulation – this soon fades, leaving the skin smooth and invigorated.

The peat sauna is suitable for people of all ages. It does not usually cause allergic reactions, but for those with heart or blood pressure conditions, as well as for pregnant women, peat should be used only as a local treatment (for example on the face, hands, or feet). It is not recommended for cancer patients.

Because the peat sauna stimulates metabolism and removes fluids from the body more quickly than traditional sauna bathing, it is important to drink plenty of water before and after the session.
